I've been helping on multiple vaping communities on G+ about DIY (Do It Yourself) ejuices. Here is a short version of some help I gave one person today. I will be making a series of blogs designed to help the new vapor. Subscribe and keep watch on this as you can pass this off to anyone you know that wants to get into vaping. But today this post is about DIY ejuices. The short version.
I make my own all the time. Rarely buy anymore.
I get my PG and VG from Amazon. No one cheaper and it's high quality.

I also get most of my flavorings and Nicotine from:

Please,,, do not go to the grocery store and try regular food flavorings. For one thing you would have to find some that have no alcohol in it. Often it's not the type of flavoring that you can burn, atomize. Just stay with the venders that sell the flavorings made for vaping. The venders listed above are the cheapest on the inter web. You will also need a recipe calculator. I use this one as it's a full out customization calculator. http://ejuice.breaktru.com/.
Just download it and install it. If it seems too much they do have very thorough help files to learn it easily. If this is still too much for you then you could use the web based version that has been simplified. Just save it to your bookmarks for later use, http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php
I've been making my own for two years now. If any questions just ask. I would recommend recipes but taste is subjective and you'll have to come up with that yourselves.
One thing I do recommend with making your own is start low. I see people using 3% and up. I do not recommend this. Just start your flavorings at 5% and work your way up to taste. Most of mine are set to around 15% but that is my taste. Also you need to keep in mind that right after you make your juice you may think it's weak or no flavor. Some juices need time to steep. Most of my juices take 2 days to steep to be usable while others need 3 to 5 or more days to steep. Just depends on the juice.
When trying to come up with your own juice, I suggest using 5 or 10 ml bottles to make your juice. Once you've got the recipe then all you have to do is adjust the quantity made on your ejuice calculator to adjust the recipe ingredients.
Steeping is subjective as well. I do mine with the lids on. Some will tell you to let breath with the lids off. I've done it both ways and found other than the needed steeping time, there is no difference. The use of a sonic bath is a joke to me. Heating them in warm water for an hour or more is just another joke to me. Mind you as I've heard of the different ways, I've tried them and found no difference than the way I steep.
I know this is a lot but if any question, hit me up.
